Our new AP Box satisfies the needs of organisations operating works under a PTW system needing tight control of lockout keys, when works are carried out by a third party.
The AP Box has two locks, one for the Authorised Person (AP) and one for the Person in Charge/Competent Person (PinC). The AP key can be keyed alike, if more than one AP Box, or Keyed to Differ if they were being operated from a ‘pool’ of boxes shared across the facility.
The AP would isolate the equipment to be worked on with the plant locks, the keys to these isolation locks go into the AP Box and then the AP removes his key and the PinC removes theirs, before the PinC then carries out the required work.
At the end of the project both the AP and the PinC return their keys to the AP Box and the keys used to remove the isolation locks, allowing the equipment to be safely re-energised.
The AP Box comes drilled for wall mounting or, if a portable AP Box is required, our Mobile AP Box comes with an additional, side mounted handle.
