Group Lockout Boxes
Performing a group lockout procedure involves an authorised person isolating and locking out the energy sources with a set of keyed alike padlocks. This key is then placed inside a lockout box.
The maintenance team, employee or contractor involved in the task then attaches their personal padlock to the lock box. Only once all padlocks are removed from the lockout box, following completion of the task, can the key be retrieved to unlock the energy source.
This is a simple and reliable group procedure for performing complex lockout tagout. It can save lives and is easily facilitated with an inexpensive product.
Reece Safety offers both mobile and wall-mounted group lock boxes and the construction ranges from highly durable lightweight materials to steel.
