Arc Flash Hoods

Adding an arc flash hood to an overcoat and gloves is a good temporary solution for higher arc flash protection when needing access to switching rooms. Our folding arc flash hood is available in both 14 cal and 25 cal arc flash protection.The arc flash hood is ideal in situations where the wearer is working in a live environment, but where there is no requirement for head protection from falling objects. Clever design allows the neck flap to fold over the helmet visor, fixed in place with Velcro. This prevents scratching of the visor when the hood is not in use.The hood offers full 360 degree head and neck protection. The hood has a true colour visor which is approved for live working and meets EN166 8 personal eye protection requirement.Both hoods are a universal size and come in navy blue, with royal blue accent.
The switching suit hoods are built around EN 367 industrial helmets and these will give either 40 or 47 cal/cm² of arc flash protection. Commonly used with a switching coat and gloves to give very high levels of protection to PPE Category 4 and Class 2.
