Locking Key Cabinets
Keeping keys safe, secure and organised, particularly in applications where access by multiple users is required, demands a range of cabinet options. Commercial businesses such as estate agents and car dealerships require quick and identifiable options for key storage in the workplace. For more complex safety applications such as Lock Out Tagout (LOTO) systems, security and ease of identification for keys and padlocks are of paramount importance to safeguard personnel.
Reece locking key cabinets provide effective and professional solutions for secure storage, with a wide range of different configurations and suitable options to choose from to match individual business requirements.
Types of key cabinets
Simple key safes or key boxes minimise the risk of lost or stolen keys. Adjustable rail cabinets can store any number from 20 to 600 keys of varying sizes, key view cabinets with windows enable users to see at a glance which keys are stored there, and high-security cabinets are used for high-level key holding.
Reece padlock cabinets are designed for storing keys and padlocks forming part of LOTO systems for locking out machinery for safety. Key tracker systems and cabinets facilitate full tracking identifying who has which key, whilst key stations are the right choice for accessible and centralised key storage.
Secure Cabinet Construction
Most models of our locking key and padlock safes are manufactured using strong steel with a powder-coated finish. High-security key cabinets use 3mm steel and feature a 6mm door. This construction provides a level of fire resistance capable of retaining integrity at elevated temperatures. Cabinets may be surface wall mounted or recessed.
Locking options
Locking mechanisms vary from popular combination lock or push button operation for a simple key safe or key box to Class 1 (CEN Standard) double-bitted 8 lever safe locks suitable for more critical applications.
A standard key cabinet model features cylinder locks. Options are available with both mechanical digital locks and electronic digital locks. For applications requiring full tracking of key movements, audit programmes to log and track key cabinet opening details provide the ideal solution.
