RSTC-401F2F - 1/2 day course duration
Intended for
Any supervisor who is required to have an understanding of work at height issues and/or specifically required to assess height activities as part of their work role
Introduction
This is a theoretical and practical working at height training course assessed by desktop exercises and written examination
Participants will be required to develop controlling documentation based on realistic workplace scenario
Subject modules
- Work at Height Regulations - hierarchy of control
- Recognition of ‘work at height’ activities under WAHR
- Company core procedure / LMI for Work at Height
- Site specific risk assessment & safe operating procedure
- Suspension intolerance
- Overview of fall restraint, work positioning and fall arrest techniques
- Recognition of anchor points (approved / bespoke)
- Overview of harness & lanyard system
- Routine inspection periods & inspection forms
- Overview of rescue arrangement and planning
Completion of mutiple desk top scenario including risk assessment, rescue plan and permit to work at height
Entry requirements
PROSPECTIVE DELEGATES MUST HAVE TOTAL FLUENCY AT BOTH SPOKEN AND WRITTEN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND BE CAPABLE OF GENERATING AUDITABLE DOCUMENTS IN ENGLISH
Assessment method
Assessment will be carried out via a written exam at the end of each module PLUS the completion of a scenario based exercise which will be submitted and assessed remotely post training
