Plant fitters, engineers, communication installers, facilities management teams, and any person who needs to work in a confined space
Introduction
This is a theoretical and practical training course which is suitable for locations of minimal volume with adequate natural ventilation, simple access and egress and no risk of rising fluids
Subject Modules
- Recognition & classification of confined spaces
- Confined space legislation
- Site specific risk assessment & use of pre-entry survey form
- Use of the safe system of work & rescue plan
- Role of the entrant and the safety attendant
- Awareness of Lockout/Tagout & acceptance of the permit to work
- Gas hazards, selection, inspection and use of a gas detector
- Ventilation methods & overview of ventilation equipment
- Assessed entry into a low risk confined space
Entry Requirements
PROSPECTIVE DELEGATES MUST HAVE TOTAL FLUENCY AT BOTH SPOKEN AND WRITTEN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND BE CAPABLE OF GENERATING AUDITABLE DOCUMENTS IN ENGLISH
Assessment Method
Assessment will be carried out via a written exam at the end of each module PLUS the completion of a scenario based exercise which will be assessed during the training session
