When working in a confined space, where serious injury can occur; whether as a result of hazardous substance or conditions. One of the safety concerns within a confined space is the risk of an explosive atmosphere.  ATEX equipment is specifically designed for use in explosive atmospheres; this includes ATEX lighting, ATEX helmets and ATEX radios.
