Reece Safety Products has successfully completed and delivered a major LOTOTO product tender valued at over £100,000, supplying a comprehensive range of mechanical and electrical lockout products for use in a warship refit, through our customer TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS).

Failure to control potential sources of hazardous energy during installation, repair, and maintenance procedures is a key factor in workplace fatalities, accounting for an estimated 10% of all serious workplace accidents. Too many avoidable accidents occur when machinery suddenly moves while still energised - sadly, often with terrible consequences.

As a result, ensuring the safety of workers engaged in repair and maintenance work on potentially dangerous equipment is non-negotiable. In industry today, across the world, LOTOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out) is a pivotal safety practice that helps ensure machinery is fully shut down and cannot be re-energised until it is safe to do so.

Reece stockholding for fast supply

Before major repair and refurbishment work can begin, preparing the appropriate LOTOTO products is essential to ensure the work proceeds as planned. With over £3M worth of stock held in the UK for immediate delivery, Reece Safety Products has earned a reputation for fast and accurate responses, with 90% of orders delivered within one to three days of order.

This level of product availability, combined with the quality and diversity of stock held by Reece Safety, was key to TVS SCS awarding the tender, with products destined for use in this key Naval refit contract.

Extensive and comprehensive product range

The specified items included mechanical and electrical isolation equipment, including a wide range of circuit breaker lockouts, some gate valve lockouts, and universal cable lockout equipment for rotating gate valves and ball valves.

This was complemented with hundreds of brass safety padlocks and a few dozen high-volume key cabinets for the safe storage and identification of both keys and padlocks.

All LOTOTO equipment was supplied on time to facilitate safe isolation in line with Health & Safety requirements.
