Phil Smith

Phil is Technical Manager for the Reece Safety group of companies. He joined the business in 2019 when it acquired Italian Locking Systems (ILS) and was responsible for coordinating the transfer of the business from Edinburgh to its new location in Elland, West Yorkshire. He has overseen ILS and the manufacturing of security padlocks ever since.

Phil served as a police officer for over 30 years prior to joining Reece and security and safety are always at the forefront of his mind. He has several Department of Transport and Home Office accreditations as well as a City & Guilds qualification in working in confined spaces and is qualified in the servicing and calibration of gas detection equipment.

Outside of work, Phil is very family orientated and enjoys being outdoors, travelling and experiencing good food and wine.
